REPORTS TO:  Director IT

OVERVIEW:

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure to support our platform and services.
• Implement and optimize deployment pipelines, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
• Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to understand platform requirements and provide technical expertise.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, performance, and scalability.
• Monitor and analyze system performance, capacity, and utilization to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal performance.
• Implement and maintain automated monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
• Ensure security best practices are implemented and maintained throughout the platform.
• Document platform architecture, processes, and procedures.

Job REQUIREMENTS

• Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.
• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or a similar role, with a strong background in infrastructure design and implementation.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies and orchestration frameworks (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub).
• Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and best practices.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Go.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer).
• Experience with infrastructure provisioning and configuration management tools (e.g., SaltStack, Ansible, etc.).
• Knowledge of infrastructure cost optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with HashiCorp’s Cloud Operating Model.
