JOB SUMMARY:
“Looking for a top-notch information security professional. We’re looking for someone more mid-tier, more technical, but familiar (with experience) in setting up computer systems for classified programs for various agencies. Focus is focus on the ISSO and ISSM role for classified Government systems”.
Position Summary & Responsibilities:
Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) position supports multiple programs administering the Information Assurance duties for information systems. The ISSM will coordinate duties with the Systems Administrator and/or Information Technology (IT) staff to ensure Risk Management Framework (RMF) is implemented and functional. This position will also conduct technical and nontechnical reviews and audits.
The ISSM is responsible for the Cyber Information Assurance (IA) program as stipulated by various US Government (USG) requirements including (but not limited to): National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) and related documentation such as the DCSA Authorization and Assessment Process Manual (DAAPM), and Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG). Components of the IA program include Assessment and Authorization activities (documentation preparation, system configuration/validation, certification testing, etc.), security sustainment activities (hardware change management, software change management, account management, media protection, user interface, file transfers, etc.), conducting self-inspections, audit trail review, delivering information systems security education and awareness.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must possess or be willing to obtain DoD 8570 certification IAM Level III (one of the following – (CISSP, CISM, GSLC, CCISO) within 6 months of employment
- Experience with national security information system-related security requirements and policies e.g., NIST SP800-53rev4, NIST Special Publication 800-53A, Assessing Security Controls, NIST SP800-37 Risk Management Framework, to include technical computer/network system auditing and vulnerability scanning
- Experience implementing government security requirements to include technical computer/network system auditing
- Experience developing System Security Plans (SSPs) and supporting certification and accreditation documentation
- Design and implement a process to identify and mitigate specific risks within the security environment utilizing SCAP, OVAL, and Nessus
- Must be a self-starter capable of multitasking and efficiently managing your time in a dynamic environment while requiring minimal levels of supervision
- Effective writing, speaking, analytical, and customer service skills
- Must possess the interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with a diverse group of individuals
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment, with demanding deadlines while ensuring internal/external customer needs are met
- Must possess a current active Secret Clearance (or have the ability to obtain)
- Must have experience authorizing Standalone (MUSA), Peer to Peer (P2P) and networked computing environments utilizing the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (EMASS)
- Must have experience authorizing or supporting certification and accreditation of Special Access Program, (SAP) networked environments in accordance with the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG)
Desired Skills:
- Risk Management Framework experience (RMF)
- Trained and proficient in Assured File Transfer (AFT) processes and tools
- Knowledge of computer forensics tools, investigative methodologies, and Incident response
- Knowledge in Windows, Ubuntu, and hardening and deployment of secure Operating Systems (OS)
- Experience with various types of vulnerability scanning tools
- Public speaking experience
Required Education:
- Associate’s in an information systems/technology-related field with 6 years of directly related experience
- BS degree in an information systems/technology-related field with 2 years of directly related experience
- MS degree in an information systems/technology-related field with 1 year of directly related experience
